Our Youth Interns

Our youth interns are pivotal to the work of SpeakSafe and to the voice they bring to all of our trainings, representing their peers. Come join our team and become fully acquainted to what is happening in our county, being able to provide feedback to what you are seeing and hearing as a student in Marin. High School/College Students

Our Mission

Save Adolescents From Exploitation is an educational program and platform to actively train elementary, middle and high school staff and ultimately students to recognize the signs of youth exploitation, to ideally prevent exploitation in the first place, and, on how to best support youth on a day-to-day basis.

Job Essentials

Leadership:

  • Participating in presentations while learning about the topic of HT/Exploitation

  • Reaching out to school staff leadership, parent groups, or student clubs to secure an invitation to present our work and do a training

  • Participate in coordinating a school club for your school if enough interest or joining with another club

  • Onboarding other students in lower grades to be mentored on our team and to develop a strong task force at SpeakSafe

  • Lead Student Onboarding with the entire team

Operational Involvement with SpeakSafe:

  • Attending weekly or bi-weekly meetings. 1x by zoom and 1x in person

  • When you commit to a presentation, important to show up

  • Social media posts by interns. Taking a 10 second video with someone else and mentioning something about SpeakSafe and posting it on any of your platforms

  • Every month to attend at least 2 trainings, if applicable, and events the team is involved in

Activities Include:

  • Presenting to school staff, coaches, students, parents, law enforcement, service providers and community members

  • Developing our Student Intern Team

  • Hosting Awareness Events

  • Social Media Outreach

  • Become part of our Youth Team

  • Working with our Law Enforcement Team
